SEMH School Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent

In partnership with Tilbury Douglas, we recently completed the design, manufacture, and install of a full Timber Frame package for a new school in Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent.

This state-of-the-art facility was built on the former Abbey Hill School site on Greasley Road and is specifically designed to support young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school has been designed to accommodate up to 70 pupils aged 11 to 16, offering a specialised learning environment tailored to SEMH students. It also provides support for those with additional secondary needs, ensuring inclusive and adaptable education for all attendees.

Sponsored and managed by the Manor Hall Academy Trust, an organisation well-regarded for its expertise in specialist education, the project represents a significant investment in the region’s educational infrastructure.

A key element of the build was the use of our low-carbon, fire-rated external timber frame walls –developed in collaboration with fermacell®. This solution was specified to meet the Department for Education’s (DfE) strict criteria for energy efficiency, sustainability, and modern learning environments.
